Club overview

Our Youth Bouldering Club is for 13 to 16 year old's who want to get stronger, climb harder and be part of a crew that shares the same passion.

With a group size of 8, our instructors will spend time with everyone in the group, developing skills and pushing limits, while keeping it fun and social too.

How it works and what to expect

Our Youth Clubs run weekly throughout the school term. Sessions are booked in half-termly blocks on a rolling basis, so your child gets a regular weekly slot that's theirs until they age out of the group, or wish to stop.

Each session is coached by an FBR Instructor with a focus on developing well-rounded climbing ability whilst meeting your young person where they're at.

What they'll work on

Technique

Refining footwork, body positioning and movement.

Safety & knowledge

Developing a deeper understanding of good climbing practices

Route reading & problem solving

Learning how to break down moves and climb with more intention

Strength & confidence

Building the physical and mental resilience that climbing demands

The social side

Being part of a group of like-minded folk who push each other forward is a wonderful part of the Youth Club

NICAS Bouldering Award Scheme

We offer optional enrolment in the NICAS Bouldering Award Scheme (Levels 1–3) — a nationally recognised climbing qualification for young people. It's a fantastic way to give your child tangible goals to work towards and recognised achievements to be proud of.

  • Completely optional - the club is great with or without it
  • One-off NICAS registration fee: £8.50
  • Levels 1–3 covered within the club programme

"Climbing for every skill level and safe. With easily distinguishable routes to follow, and plenty of them too, the rooms offer a huge selection of climbs to try. Shoe hire is cheap, and membership is too. The fact that there is so much space, booking isn't always necessary. There are a good range of foods and drinks available, and plenty of seating to eat and chat. I would definitely recommend this place for a family fun day, as much as I would for a pro climber."
