Overview

We can run three main types of group visit:

Weekly Sessions (inc GCSE & NICAS sessions)

Perfect for schools integrating climbing into their PE curriculum. Sessions can follow the NICAS framework (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme), mapping directly onto the GCSE PE practical specification and giving students a recognised accreditation alongside their studies.

Alternative provision

Great for students who thrive outside traditional classroom environments. Climbing has a way of reaching young people who've disengaged elsewhere, and we're experienced in working with groups who need more flexibility, patience or a different approach.

Enrichment & one-off visits

A trip to FBR is ideal for reward trips, taster sessions or end of term activities.

How it works and what to expect

We work with you before the visit to understand your group, your goals and any practical requirements like ratios, risk assessments, accessibility or anything else. On the day, our team will handle everything else.

Climbing has a brilliant way of levelling the playing field. The quiet ones are sometimes fearless on the wall. The sporty ones discover that strength alone doesn't always cut it. Students who've struggled to engage elsewhere often find something here that clicks, and the confidence they build tends to reach beyond the session itself.

For schools or education providers committing to regular weekly visits, students can follow a structured progression through NICAS Levels 1–3, building bouldering competence and a proper record of achievement over the course of a term or year.

The kind that comes from doing something you weren't sure you could

Working with smaller groups?

We can accommodate smaller group sizes and tailor our approach for students with additional needs. Our experienced team can suggest a suitable climbing program and pricing based on individual needs.

  • One-off NICAS registration fee: £10.00
