Junior Climbing Club

A weekly climbing club for children aged 10-12.

Club overview

This is where things start to get interesting. Junior Bouldering Club is for 10 to 12 year olds who are ready to climb with more intention — developing technique, building real strength and starting to take on problems that actually challenge them.

Whether they're brand new to bouldering or already spending their weekends at the wall, this club gives them the coaching, the community and the weekly structure to make genuine progress.

How it works and what to expect

Our Junior Climbing Clubs run weekly throughout the school term as part of FBR's junior programme. When you sign up, your child gets a regular weekly slot that's theirs for the term — not a drop-in, but a proper club with familiar faces, consistent coaching and a real sense of belonging.

Sessions are booked in half-term blocks, so their place is always secure and the progression never stops.

Each session is coached and purposeful, with a focus on developing well-rounded climbing ability from the ground up. The FBR team work with each climber individually within the group — spotting habits to build on, identifying technique to refine and setting challenges that keep every session feeling fresh.

What they'll learn

Technique — footwork, body positioning and movement skills for beginner to intermediate problems

Safety — responsible climbing habits and how to move confidently and safely around the wall

Problem solving — how to read routes, break down moves and develop a climber's mindset

Confidence & resilience — learning to fall, try again and back themselves on harder problems

Progression — building week on week with coaches who know exactly where each climber is headed
